KENT, Wash. – July 1, 2010 – The Morford Family Carousel will take its first spins on Friday, July 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  The City and the non-profit operating group had planned to open on July 14, as soon after Cornucopia Days as possible. But set-up, including a required electrical inspection, could not be guaranteed within such a tight window.

On November 4, 2009, a majority of voting residents located in the Panther Lake area chose to annex to the City of Kent.  The annexation took effect July 1, 2010, making Kent sixth largest city in the state with a population of 112,380.

KENT, Wash. – June 2, 2010 – Kent Councilmember Ron Harmon has been appointed by Governor Gregoire to serve as one of nine members of the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
